Youth and Financial Services Working Group
Providing youth in the developing world with access to financial services is an emerging effort in microfinance, but one with huge potential to reduce global poverty. The Youth and Financial Services Working Group seeks to examine the current state of the youth sector and create resources that will both strengthen existing providers and show the way for organizations trying to break into the youth market.
In the past year, the working group conducted an informal industry survey of current youth financial services providers in order to determine the present scope of products and services, as well as challenges, lessons learned, and possible gaps in the industry. The survey lays the groundwork for creating trend studies, standards, and guidelines to assist both current and potential providers.
