You are cordially invited to a SEEP Dialogues event

Understanding the Microfinance Market
Field-Level Perspectives from 36 Local Markets

The next SEEP Dialogue will feature a discussion of Market Outlook 2012: Perspectives of Microfinance Association Leaders, SEEP's most recent research publication, sponsored by Citi Microfinance. This report provides insights of leaders of microfinance associations in 36 markets around the world. These associations represent 4,743 microfinance institutions with a total of 70 million clients and a collective portfolio of approximately US$ 21 billion.

The invited panel and audience will address the market changes, trends, risks and priorities identified in the report. Questions to be considered include:

  • How do the market trends affect the priorities and programs of key stakeholder groups such as investors, donors and governments?
  • How does this field-based information on industry risks impact risk management strategies?
  • What are the implications for responsible development of microfinance?
  • At local levels, are the strategies and initiatives currently employed enough to mitigate risk or what else needs to be done?

Please join us for a lively discussion of these questions and their implications.

The SEEP Dialogues are forums for the exchange of ideas among microfinance and enterprise development practitioners and other key stakeholders. The topics reflect ongoing issues and challenges related to building inclusive markets through financial and enterprise solutions. The format includes critical analysis by selected thought leaders and active audience engagement.

*Mary Ellen Iskenderian will not be appearing on the panel. She will be replaced by SEEP Executive Director Sharon D'Onofrio.
