FinMark Trust commissioned Genesis Analytics to conduct a study on the current FE programmes available in an attempt to help identify best practices, provide guidance for adapting FE programmes to be more effective, and provide general learning’s for designing and implementing effective FE programmes. Through this study a Financial Education ToolKit (FE) was developed.
This toolkit contains eleven best practices in FE programme design and implementation, an indepth case study of the FE component of a savings led, savings and credit programme in South Africa, a list of steps that should be followed when designing a financial education programme, a mini-toolkit for monitoring and evaluation and links to useful resources.
