SEEP convenes the largest global community of microfinance associations

Transparent Business Environments

Responsible development of microfinance markets depends in large part on the quality, availability, and utilization of information. Microfinance institutions, investors, and policy makers all depend on information in order to make decisions. SEEP’s Market Outlook 2012 offers a platform for MFA leaders to share their perceptions of the most important priorities, threats, and risks for the microfinance sectors worldwide. This session will discuss the strategic importance of this type of research and delve deeper into several themes that surfaced in the survey: Government Impact, Credit Risk/Competition/ Overindebtedness and Refocusing on Clients. Panelists from associations from different regions will share various approaches to address these issues facing their markets.

Moderator: Karla Brom

Panelists:
Allan Pérez, Director of Planning and Projects, Red Centroamericana y del Caribe de Microfinanzas (REDCAMIF)
Matthew Titus, Executive Director, Sa-Dhan
Yaw Gyamfi, Executive Director, Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN)
