Criteria for SEEP Membership

The applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

 

Networks of SEEP Membership Criteria

SEEP membership is open to organizations that operate as a country or regional level network focused on microfinance or micro enterprise development. In addition, networks must:

§         Demonstrate an interest in promoting microfinance or micro and small enterprise development best practices.

§         Contribute and actively participate in SEEP’s learning activities.

 

Membership Application Process

Step 1 – Application Submission

Complete a membership application form; enclose an organizational brochure or an annual report and a letter of application (preferably in English however, Spanish and French are acceptable).

 

The letter of application should include the following information:

  • An explanation of why the network is interested in joining SEEP.
  • A description of the network’s approach to microfinance or micro and small enterprise development.
  • Detailed information that includes: the network’s activities to date, strategic objectives, organizational structure, services, member composition, program collaborators and annual financial report.

 

Step 2 – Application Review

SEEP’s Board of Directors will review and approve all membership applications. Completed applications are accepted on a quarterly basis in January, May, August and September.

 

Step 3 –Application Notification

After the board reviews the application, an interview is set up between the network and SEEP. Following the interview, a final decision is made and the applicant is notified. Once approved as a new member, a conference call with SEEP will be set up to answer any questions and discuss how the new member can contribute to SEEP.
