Microfinance Gender Study: A Market Study of Women Entrepreneurs in Yemen
by Deena Bujorjee, Mary Jennings in 2008
World Region: East Asia & Pacific
This report evaluates the extent to which MFIs in Yemen address gender specific issues. It examines women’s business needs and constraints, presents their perceptions of MFIs and recommends measures for the Social Fund for Development (SFD) and partner MFIs to serve women better. Women were generally satisfied with MFIs, but stated that they required larger loans to grow their businesses.
