Each year ACCESS organizes the Livelihoods Asia Summit, a pan-Asia conference that targets about 600 delegates from the livelihoods sector including practitioners, policy makers, private sector, non-governmental organizations, donors, multilateral / bilateral organizations, academicians, researchers and other support organizations from within the region. The Summit presents a unique experience for the participants from a diverse array of themes that are discussed in over 15 sessions across two days. Experiences, case studies, issues and challenges from countries within the region are shared at the Livelihoods Asia Summit and over 70 thought-leaders, policy makers and practitioners are a part of the two-day deliberations. The Summit envisages the idea of a Focus Country which is meant to facilitate new knowledge sharing between an Asian country in focus and other countries in the region.
Now in its 7th year of execution, the Livelihoods Asia Summit 2016 learning will be held in New Delhi between December 7 and 8, 2016. This is a unique platform established to facilitate south south dialogue on livelihoods enhancement of the poor. Wide ranging discussions will be held on Inclusive Value chains and several senior officials from the Government; Private Sector; Civil Societies, UN agencies and thought leaders will speak at the Summit. It will enable diverse stakeholders to meet and share experiences and breakthroughs, discuss issues and challenges that the poor face and build consensus on strategies that will help in strengthening the enabling environment and deliver sustainable outcomes. The Summit will see more than 400 delegates from over 10 countries participate in sessions across two days. There will be over 60 eminent thought leaders and sector specialists from the region speaking in various panels.
