Description: This training will provide a comprehensive overview of CRS's proven Private Service Provider (fee-for-service) model for cost-effective scaling up of savings groups. It includes both the rationale and benefits; as well as the implementation timeline, process and tools; and keys to success. The training will be participatory, with hands-on activities. All participants will receive a copy of the PSP Implementation Manual.
In addition to this 1-day intro course a full, five-day course will be offered in November in Rwanda, in conjunction with the Carsey School of Public Policy for those that want to adopt this methodology. Target Audience: Savings group and other microfinance practitioners interested in learning about a practical approach to fee-for-service group formation.
Mr. marc bavois is CRS's Regional Technical Advisor for East Africa. With over 10 years of microfinance experience, he is the author of the PSP Implementation Manual, and currently serves as the technical and training lead for CRS's Expanding Financial Inclusion project, which will reach over half a million members using the PSP approach, with an emphasis on outreach to the very poor.
Registration for the SEEP Conference is not required to attend technical trainings.
