SEEP collects and disseminates cutting-edge learning on microenterprise development around the world. This means that when SEEP members participate in our initiatives or influence our learning agenda, they have the ability to make an impact on the industry at large.

Form an Initiative

If your organization is a SEEP member, you have a unique opportunity to spur research and learning that will advance the microenterprise development sector. 

Complete the concept note form (Français | Español) to apply for funding to start a new SEEP learning initiative or to renew an existing one. Please send your completed concept note form to Lauren Clark (clark@seepnetwork.org).

SEEP's learning initiatives employ various methodologies to conduct research and establish best practices. The working group methodology is most popular for members who would like to start a new initiative. Our FAQs page has more information on working groups.

Proposal Timeline for Initiatives Beginning in January 2012

December 9th:  Submit your concept note*
December 22th:  SEEP will announce shortlisted concept notes to proceed to next phase
January 18th:  Submit your workplan
February 3rd:  SEEP will announce selected workplans
February 20th:  Workplans finalized

*Concept notes submitted after December 9th will be reviewed on a rolling basis, funding permitting.

Concept Note Selection Criteria

1.  Quality of 2011 deliverables (for existing Initiatives only)
2.  Size and expected contribution of interest group
3.  Quality of concept note 
4.  Alignment with SEEP’s strategic direction will be considered
