Join the Center for Financial Inclusion and the Center for Financial Services Innovation on Thursday, April 20th for a presentation and discussion on financial health. We’ll explore this increasingly influential concept and answer the most important questions about it. What does it mean to be financially healthy? How does financial health look different in a high income versus low income country? How do you measure financial health? Is financial health the ultimate goal of financial inclusion?

Over the past year, CFI and CFSI have been exploring whether and how financial health—a concept CFSI has developed and promoted for the U.S. market—can be used as a framework for better understanding consumers in developing countries. With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and support from the Dalberg Design Impact Group, we found that people in developing countries share aspirations similar to those in higher income countries – they want their financial systems to help them meet every day needs, prepare them for emergencies and help them pursue their dreams.   The report that we will discuss during the event presents the results of our research, showing that the core financial health framework resonates with consumers, practitioners, providers, and funders in the U.S. and in the developing world.
