Promoting Inclusive Markets and Financial Systems

Gender and the Global Findex Webinar

Oct 18, 2017 (Wed), 9:00am

Hosted by: Leora Klapper, Founder of the Global Findex

Does calling someone to place an order for delivery constitute making a purchase with your mobile phone? What sampling size would provide representative results for a country of one billion people? And what techniques are used to glean individual rather than household level responses?

The global findex has answered these questions and more in order to provide us with insights including that Uganda has the highest proportion of women who have borrowed for education or school fees (39%), and in Kenya, 10% of women have used a mobile phone to pay for school fees. 33% of women in Yemen have borrowed for health or medical purposes, and in Pakistan less than 1% of women have used the internet to pay bills or buy things.

Tune in to our webinar to learn more about the richness of this data, and how you can access it. A Question and Answer session will provide you with the opportunity to have your questions answered and you can also submit questions in advance via our survey or via twitter using #globalfindex.
