Deepening our Understanding of Markets: Informal Regulations in the BEE (Business Enabling Environment)
A webinar from the Carsey School's Sustainable Enterprise and Market Development Program
In inclusive market development the business enabling environment (BEE) is accepted as key in shaping how a market functions. The BEE is comprised of formal regulations—the laws, treaties, certificates, standards that have to be met; and informal regulations, which are the social institutions of gender, ethnicity and religion. This webinar will present and explicate how the informal regulations within the BEE play a crucial role in understanding how exclusion is played out in a market system, and how we as inclusive market development facilitators can better understand the behaviours of economic actors in market systems so that we can be more effective in influencing systemic change.
Mary Morgan of MMorgan Consulting will explore these issues in this webinar, presented by the Sustainable Enterprise and Market Development Program at the University of New Hampshire's Carsey School for Public Policy.
