The Caribbean Microfinance Forum (CMF) VI is expanding microfinance and social entrepreneurship in the Caribbean into a brand new global conversation.
CEO’s, CFOs, Directors and financial services professionals drawn from the region’s leading microfinance institutions (MFIs) will meet in Miami, Florida between July 6 and 9, 2015 to discuss and exchange ideas for the development of the Caribbean microfinance sector along with policymakers, investors, academics and development partners and experts.
Caribbean MFIs continue to make significant contributions to the facilitation of broad financial inclusion and economic development in the Caribbean.
Among the planned new features at this year’s Forum will be a Microfinance Exhibition to profile the achievements of regional MFIs, and B2B Networking Sessions to facilitate new connections and deepen existing
CMF VI is convened by the Caribbean Microfinance Alliance (CMFA), which emerged out of the recently concluded Caribbean Microfinance Capacity Building Project (CARIB-CAP), jointly funded by the Multilateral Investment Fund (a member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group), European Commission, Citi Foundation and the Caribbean
CARIB-CAP executed five successful regional forums, moving from a roundtable meeting of 35 in Barbados in 2009 to a regional gathering of over 160 in Jamaica in 2014.
The CMFA, from its Kingston-based Secretariat promotes global best practices among its growing membership of over 20 microfinance institutions in the Caribbean by providing training and capacity building workshops and a range of other value-added services.
