The Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU) is the national umbrella organization of the microfinance industry in Uganda. AMFIU promotes a double-bottom line goal for MFIs among its members (financial sustainability and social impact) and this promotion includes raising awareness on social performance management (SPM). This case study explores AMFIU's work to promote SPM among members and looks at the network's SPM Strategy which is divided into four sections: i) awareness raising and promotion, ii) institutionalization, iii) capacity building and SPM reporting, and iv) financial literacy and client protection.
