What is the Economic Recovery Workshop Series?

The Workshop Series covers three trainings focused on economic development programming in crisis-affected environments:

1.     The Minimum Standards for Economic Recovery in Crisis (SEEP) (2 days)

2.     Emergency Market Mapping and Assessment (EMMA) Toolkit (5 days)

3.     Introduction to Cash Programming (CaLP)

To learn more about these courses and the organizations that developed them, click on “About the Courses” in the menu on the right.

Who should attend?

  • Emergency practitioners with a limited background in economic programs, who would be implementing assessments or designing economic recovery programs in crisis-affected contexts (conflict or disaster).
  • Economic development practitioners who would like to learn how to deliver, or improve delivery of, programming in crisis-affected contexts
  • Managers and decision-makers responsible for economic or livelihoods programming in crisis environments

These courses are best for practitioners who have several years’ experience and leadership skills, rather than very junior staff.

When?

The Economic Recovery Workshop Series will be offered twice in 2010:

 Amman, Jordan, January 18-29, 2010

Bali, Indonesia, February 15-26, 2010

The Economic Recovery Workshop Series is organized by the International Rescue Committee and the SEEP Network.  Contributors include the Cash and Learning Program consortium, Oxfam and Mercy Corps.
